Artist Statements

Art show piece:

My piece is a hand reaching forward out of light blue clouds into a sunset that has a goal that I am trying to reach. The most obvious element in my piece would be the nice blending of the Prisma colored pencils.

My artwork is made from Prisma colored pencils, I used blending techniques and used white pencils to fill in the blending areas, I also used my thumb to blend in the darker shades of colors and this helped me out a lot on smoothing the coloring out.

The reason behind this piece was to show that no matter what you should reach for your goals no matter what obstacles you go through, no one inspired this piece it was just the struggles in life we went through that motivated us to make this.

my goal as an artist was to make a piece that expressed something that means something to me and had a positive meaning behind it, this piece helped me express a lot of things that I've been through.

I learned that it takes the proper time and it takes hard work to fully complete a project and this showed me that I am able to blend pretty well if I put my all into it and take my time with the piece.

foreshortening piece

the piece depicts a very popular child hood character known as tazz he is very close up with a very big angry frown. the most obvious element is the color and different shades of red. i used a variety of tan to make his anger look realistic.

this piece was created using prisma color . i used some techniques to create this piece to look real like heavy and light blending in areas

my inspiration for this piece was my love for the cartoon looney toons . i thought it would bring back memories to me from my child hood days when i would look at it all the time.

my goal as a artist for this piece was to finish the work i had started and make little to no mistakes with the blending and to not mess up the colors that i wanted to put in the picture.

overall this piece turned out very nice and i think that i will learn off of it and make little to no mistakes next time i use the prisma colored pencils.
